Hey All!!
Yes, it’s the Final installment of the 2013 Bay Run Handicap Series this coming Saturday – 26th October 2013.This is the last handicap of the year and is to be celebrated by us getting our Halloween gear on, plus culinary delights post-race!
For those of you ‘new’ to this, it is as simple as running the Bay Run, but giving an estimated time. The key being that you need to complete the Bay Run, in no more than 59secs quicker than your estimated time. What makes it more fun is that you can’t wear a watch!
If you do complete the course in less than 59secs under your estimated, it doesn’t really matter as it means that you went super quick, or gave a supremely conservative time.
Purpose is to challenge yourself a bit, but also to be a good gauge of your pace!
For the competitive ones among you attached is the Series points table!
You will be emailed a list of the start times on Friday and it’ll also be posted on the website http://www.
As you know there is start works along the Bay Run at UTS Rowers, so be mindful if trucks are moving around that area!
So now you have to email through your estimated time to THIS email address (martinamy1@gmail.com).
You need to send this by no later than THURSDAY 24 OCTOBER 2013.
For easy of organisation, if you’re not too sure whether you’re going to run, please email me anyway. As always it is much more difficult to have people rock up on the day with times!
There will be culinary delights afterwards, so it is a great chance to meet new Woodies and trade chats about runs/training plans, past, present and future! Uniforms will also be on offer!
There will be on-the–day prizes for place-getters and of course the lucky draw prize.
There is a gold coin entry of $2 for members and $5 for non-members. Please bring coin from car to start.
If anyone is not feeling upto running, and would like to help out with some timing and cheering, please let me know as that would be super helpful!
